October 13, 1999 - Interest Rate Lock expired
Well, today our interest rate lock expired. As you can guess by the lack of email from me, we did not have a final inspection, nor have we closed. As of right now, we have no idea what is going on. Our loan officer is still waiting for the home office to approve some sort of extension. He'll get with us as soon as he hears something.
The solution to the "round holes for oval sinks" was to special order the larger oval sinks. Our builder has *vehemently* assured us that we will not have to pay for the additional cost of the upgraded sinks. I wonder whose hide he's going to take it out of though...
Today those wonderful plumbers were scheduled to appear. I wandered around the house and found little "obvious" done. A quick phone call to Joe confirmed that they actually had done some fairly significant work. Nice to know...
The electricians got more light
fixtures and were their usual busy selves. The best part is that
since we passed the final electric inspection, Clay Electric (our electric
utility) has removed the temporary power pole and completed the permanent
power connection. This means we now have electricity in the house!
I can now turn on the lights and get better pictures!

The upgraded oval sink. Notice it's oval shape. It's just
bigger than what we had planned on.
Looks nice in the box. Will look even better once it's been installed.

Don't believe I ever mentioned this. I've always been a fan of
task lighting so I got it! It will also make a good night light for
the Living Room area so the kids can travel safely to our bedroom in their
attempts to sneak into bed with us.
(To be fair, only Sarah does this right now. Olivia is still sleeping in her crib. Livs has the option of a bed, but still chooses the crib...go figure.) |

The Master Bathroom with lights a-blazing! We also have a vent
light which has not been installed yet.
The sticks are holding down the recently installed back splash. |

Finally I can give you a picture of my happiness and one of Joe's pride and joys: the Master Bathroom closet. I'm happy that we'll finally have the room for our clothes. Joe's been busy the past few weekends installing the Closet Maid hardware. (Without interior lights, this was just really dark, even with a flash.) |

Look! The plumbers installed something! In this case it's the toilet base in the Guest Bathroom |

More evidence of plumbers at work: The toilet base in the girls' bathroom. Of course, what I didn't notice (but Joe did) is that the toilet is not aligned properly - specifically the back is not parallel to the wall. Considering the plumbers, is anyone surprised? |

The toilet tank and lid, that currently reside in the hallway... |

I told you that the wall sconces in the Living Room were for uplighting. Here's the proof! |

Another photo I couldn't take until now. This is the laundry room side of our laundry shoot from the Master Bathroom. |

The breaker box in the Utility Room. I love our electricians! |

Well, since the plumbers had begun, there was never any
question that I would be back the next day. And I had every intention
of being really pissed off, since I didn't expect much... To save
