October 14, 1999 - More Plumbers?

Just in case the suspense was killing you...

The plumbers showed up today & worked!  And...MY APPLIANCES WERE DELIVERED!!  The pictures are worth a thousand words.  However, the one picture I could not take was of the plumber installed dishwasher.  (Now, let's not have everyone's jaws hitting the floor over the concept that the plumbers would actually do something on their own initiative.)  The reason I couldn't take a picture was that one of the painters (who have had little mention so far, but have been very, very busy) was painting the ceiling fixture in the kitchen.  She and her ladder blocked me from taking a shot of the dishwasher.

On the negative side, we still haven't heard anything about an extension on our interest rate lock.

If I remember correctly, this is the sink in the Guest Bathroom.  (Can't remember if it or the girls' bathroom have the white handles...)
The toilet (installed!) in the Guest Bathroom (I think).  No, some one did not use the toilet & forget to flush.  Instead, the color is due to iron in the water...
Now I remember!  This is definitely the girls' bathroom.  First, the counter-top is pinker (technically referred to as "blush").  Second, I remember the little silver ends on the sink handles were an attempt to duplicate what we have in their bathroom in our current house.  Why duplicate?  Because we like the look.
The girls' bathroom, with plumbing fixtures installed...including (oooh!) a shower rod.
The Guest Bathroom shower.  Notice how the handle matches the ones on the sink?  Are we good or what?  (Did we go over our plumbing allowance or what?)
A very blurry shot of my brand new gas stove!  It's blurry cause I'm trying to stay out of the way of the painter above me.
One of the two sinks in the Master Bathroom.  (Yes, we picked the same fixtures for both sinks.)

Joe and I went "wild" and decided on a brass/silver motif to go with the dark cabinets.  Yes, no golden oak and plain silver or brass for us!  I know we're going out on a limb here, but we really do have to experiment.  :)

Heh heh.  This is *not* the Guest Bathroom.  This is the Master Bathroom shower.  Standard shower head on the left, removeable nozzle shower on right.  (With massage options if I remember correctly...)

Maybe, one day, we'll let a really good friend use it...

A full shot of the Master Bathroom vanity, complete with working lights and water.  I think I'm gonna pick the right side as mine...

Not much to add.  The only fixture not installed was the Master Bathroom toilet.  I know I mentioned that the drain was not centered in the toilet room and we refused to let them install an offset flange.  (An offset flange creates a curve to the drain which causes it to clog easier.  We've been advised by lots of friends not to have one.)  What I don't remember mentioning is that after the plumbers were told to move the drain (and not to install an offset flange), they cracked a little bit of concrete, installed an offset flange, placed a plastic lid on the drain and covered the whole thing with duct tape.  We thought they had moved the drain since it was within a quarter inch of center, and we didn't realize that they actually had to crack the slab to install the offset flange.  During a meeting with our builder, he removed the duct tape, pulled off the cover and discovered the offset flange.  He was not happy.  Neither were we.  So, we're waiting on the plumbers fix the drain.  Then after the concrete has set, the tile guys have to come back and install two pieces of floor tile (plus some other tile that they had to order - mostly bullnose & other edging pieces they ran out of during their two days at the house).  After the tile is grouted, the plumbers can install the Master Bathroom toilet.
